Features
Mounting and laminating will enhance the look of your project and protect your image from dirt, spills and smears.
Perimeter Trim protects edges and corners from everyday bumps and bruises.
We offer a wide variety of mounting boards in black/white (up to 48" x 96").
Lamination/encapsulation films available in widths up to 50". All films are UV protected. Choose from two quality finishes: Glossy and Crystal.
Turnaround
We request 4 to 24 hours turnaround time to ensure proper processing and handling of your mounting and laminating projects.
If your project is large or requires faster turnaround time, please contact the Finishing Staff to coordinate production times (Priority Handling may be charged for turnaround under 4 hours).
Technical Guidelines
Mounting and laminating are intended to enhance and protect your work. These services are not promoted as archival or "museum quality."
Excessive handling, extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations can all cause damage to mounted/laminated pieces. Perimeter Trim can help prevent this.
Foam Core board is absorbent and will warp. Gator board is much less prone to warping.
We suggest that original art work not be mounted or laminated because they could be damaged in the process. Veenstra can not accept liability for such damage.
Flat pieces work best. Pieces with overlays or layers may cause problems, especially if laminated.
When mounting or laminating Inkjet prints, 24 hours should be allowed for drying to promote proper adhesion.
Some materials, especially thermal prints, may experience a color shift when laminated.
For best laminating results, allow a 2" clear border around your graphics. Full bleed graphics can weaken the adhesion of the laminate at the edge of the print.
Finishing Options
Application of Perimeter Trim to most finished pieces (chrome, brass, white, black, wood tone): 1/4" = $3.75 ft, 1/2" = $4.75 ft.
Grommets applied (chrome and brass): $3.25 each.
Special cutting of most any shape: $75.00 hr.
Wall hangers applied: $3.25 each.
Special hinging applied, black and white available: $5.95 ft.
Easel backs applied: 5" $2.25, 9" $3.50, 15" $4.95, 24" $10.95, 36" $15.95.
Velcro applied, both hook and loop: hook only $2.00 ft, loop only $2.00 ft.
Glue applied: $3.25 sq. ft.
"Rod Pockets" for canvas and vinyl displays that include weighted steel rods: $10.00 ft.
